Baseball Card is a Rare Multiplicative Mult Joker that provides X1.5 Mult for each Uncommon Joker held by the player. The effect is multiplicative. The more Uncommon Jokers that the player holds, the more times Baseball Card will be triggered.

Importantly, Baseball Card does not trigger from a "minimum" rarity requirement of Uncommon; it only triggers specifically from Uncommon Jokers. Rare or Legendary Jokers do not grant the multiplier.

Baseball Card's effect triggers after the Uncommon Joker's effect. Therefore, placing +Mult Jokers left of Uncommon Jokers is best to maximize score.

Synergies

  • Black Deck's +1 Joker slot is beneficial for Baseball Card, allowing the player to hold an extra Uncommon Joker for an additional X1.5 Mult.
  • Five-Card Draw works very well with Baseball Card, as this deck not only starts with an Uncommon Joker, but it also gives +2 Joker slots, allowing the player to hold two extra Uncommon Jokers for two additional X1.5 Mult.
  • Ghost Deck has easier access to multiple useful Spectral Cards, including Ectoplasm, which can allow the player to take more Uncommon Jokers to scale Baseball Card.
  • Anaglyph Deck's double tags can be used to generate a large amount of Uncommon Jokers in a shop, allowing the player more choices on Uncommon Jokers via the Uncommon Tag, and the Negative Tag can potentially generate Uncommon Jokers without the need for empty Joker slots.
  • Fragile starts with 2 Negative Oops! All 6s, earning the player X2.25 Mult if Baseball Card is acquired.
  • Blast Off starts with Constellation and Rocket, earning the player X2.25 Mult if Baseball Card is acquired, although it also starts with one fewer Joker slot.
  • 15 Minute City, On a Knife's Edge, Mad World, Medusa, Bram Poker, and Monolith all start with 1 Uncommon Joker, earning the player X1.5 Mult if Baseball Card is acquired.

With Uncommon Jokers like Marble Joker and Stone Joker, High Card builds can work well, provided the base Mult has been scaled sufficiently.

Baseball Card is a bit of an odd Joker, since its effect is triggered by only Uncommon Jokers. This effect happens after each Uncommon Joker is activated. Any Uncommon Joker is inherently synergistic with Baseball Card (aside from Madness), and having four Uncommon Jokers totals to X5.0625 Mult, a rather large amount, but this restricts you to only using Uncommon Jokers or having more Joker slots. This bonus grows exponentially with more Joker slots, making Baseball Card one of only two Jokers that scale with total Jokers, the other being Abstract Joker.

  • Other XMult Uncommon Jokers work incredibly well with Baseball Card, like Blackboard, Hologram, and Glass Joker. Pairing these with Baseball Card exponentially increases their scoring power.
  • Effect or economy Uncommon Jokers are more useful with Baseball, like To the Moon and Shortcut, since they usually would have no direct scoring bonus.
  • Luck-based builds can use Baseball Card to great effect, since key jokers like Oops! All 6s, Bloodstone, Lucky Cat, and most retrigger Jokers are uncommon.
  • Séance and Sixth Sense can generate Ectoplasm, which allows the player to hold more Uncommon Jokers, scaling Baseball Card more.
  • Baseball Card is compatible with Blueprint and Brainstorm. Using a copy Joker will reduce the total amount of Uncommon Jokers but can provide more total XMult.
  • Ectoplasm adds Negative to a random Joker, which allows the player to hold more Uncommon Jokers.
  • Antimatter gives +1 Joker slot, allowing the player to hold an extra Uncommon Joker for an additional X1.5 Mult.
  • When playing against Crimson Heart, Baseball Card will still trigger on debuffed Uncommon Jokers, as long as Baseball Card is not debuffed itself.
  • On Orange Stake and higher, Uncommon Perishable Jokers that have been debuffed will still be granted XMult by Baseball Card, making it potentially worthwhile to hold onto a Joker even after it perishes.

Anti-Synergies

Decks

  • Painted Deck is difficult to use with Baseball Card due to its -1 Joker slot, which allows fewer Uncommon Jokers to be held at once.
  • Similarly, Cruelty is even more difficult to use with Baseball Card due to the -2 Joker slots, which allows even fewer Uncommon Jokers to be held at once.

Trivia

  • Baseball cards are a type of collectable trading card, with uncommon baseball cards being worth more than common cards. This Joker plays on this theme, with uncommon Jokers granting a bonus.
  • The signature at the bottom of the card reads "Jim Joker".
  • The exact depiction of the Joker/Jimbo icon/logo on the top right corner of this Joker's art can also be found on Riff-Raff, as well as there being a similar version in the center of Seltzer.
