Golden Ticket is a Common Economy Joker that gives $4 for every scoring Gold Card, effectively turning them into more powerful Gold Seal cards.

For this Joker's unlock requirement's "5 card hand", the hand's 5 cards do not need to score. For example, the player can unlock this Joker by playing a High Card hand of one scoring card with four non-scoring cards. All cards do need to be gold cards before any joker effects, so Golden Ticket will not unlock if one or more of the cards was changed to gold by Midas Mask.

Synergies

  • The Zodiac Deck works best with Golden Ticket thanks to its increased Tarot card frequency, allowing Gold card conversion more frequent.
  • Playing 5-card hand such as Flush or Full House with as many Gold cards as possible will ensure maximum income.
  • "On scored" retrigger Jokers will reactivate Golden Ticket's effect. So Hanging Chad, Dusk, and Seltzer are great with this Joker. Hack and Sock and Buskin can also be great if the Gold cards have the relevant ranks.
  • Midas Mask turns all Face cards into Gold cards when scored. It will be even stronger if paired with Pareidolia, as all cards now can be converted into Gold cards.
  • Bull and Bootstraps benefit from the high money making capabilities of this joker.
  • A Gold Seal will earn $3 when scored, giving $7 total per Gold Card.
  • A Red Seal will retrigger Golden Ticket, giving $8 per Gold Card.

Consumables

  • The Devil can make more Gold cards.
  • Death can turn some cards into Gold cards.
  • The Hanged Man can remove non-Gold cards.
  • Deja Vu can apply Red Seals onto Gold cards allowing Golden Ticket to generate more money.

Anti-Synergies

Jokers

  • Vampire has anti-synergy, as the Gold Enhancement gets removed before it can score. However if the player is also using Midas Mask this becomes a non-issue.
  • Vagabond can have anti-synergy, as having more than $4 during a round will disable its effect. It may be better to keep Gold Enhancement Cards in hand and let them trigger when the round ends.
  • Mime has slight anti-synergy, since a Gold Card held in hand with Mime will give $6, more than what Golden Ticket gives for playing Gold Cards.

Trivia

  • The numbers 16180339 used in the artwork are the first digits of the Golden ratio, perhaps because of the shared "golden" thread.
  • This Joker is part of a series, along with Stone Joker, Steel Joker, Glass Joker and Lucky Cat, where the Joker only appears once players have at least one card with the relevant enhancement in their deck. Interestingly, Golden Ticket is the only Common Joker in this list.
  • This Joker has a smaller width than standard Joker cards when face up. However, when it is flipped face-down, it uses the same standard size of card back as the rest. The other Joker with this similar property is Business Card.
