Arrowhead is an Uncommon Spades-oriented Chips Joker. Arrowhead provides +50 Chips per  Spade when scored.

Arrowhead thrives when playing Spade Flushes, providing +250 Chips, and more if any retrigger effects, such as Red Seals, are present. This makes Arrowhead a good reason to opt in to Flushes, although 50 Chips per Spade can supplement any build.

Synergies

  • Checkered Deck is the easiest Deck to pair with Arrowhead, since it starts with 26 Spades, allowing the player to play Spade Flushes consistently.
  • Plasma Deck is arguably the strongest Deck to pair with Arrowhead, as the innate advantage Chips have on it makes Arrowhead's 50 Chips per Spade an immense boon. However, the viability of this playstyle can heavily depend on if the player has already fixed their Deck toward Spade cards.
  • Black Deck appreciates having such a strong Chips Joker, as it frees up slots for more Mult/Effect Jokers.

Although a potential source of chips for any hand due to its high output, Arrowhead is strongest with Flush hands. These are:

  • Retrigger Jokers can greatly increase Arrowhead's scoring power.
    • Hanging Chad is a relatively easy Joker to pair with Arrowhead on account of being a Common.
    • Other retrigger Jokers include Sock and Buskin, Seltzer, and Dusk, although all of these are conditional, unlike Hanging Chad.
  • Wrathful Joker provides +3 Mult per Spade, giving a small complementary boost to Arrowhead's Chips.
  • Smeared Joker allows Arrowhead to benefit from Club cards, increasing the scope of its usage.
    • Club-based Jokers like Gluttonous Joker and Onyx Agate may be useful in this context.
  • Blackboard may be useful with Arrowhead once the player has sufficiently removed enough Hearts and Diamonds from the Deck, allowing its X3 Mult condition to activate consistently. This may be a reason to play hands other than Flush, for the ability to throw away Red-suited cards as non-scoring cards.
  • As a precaution, it may be useful to obtain Luchador (or on rarer occasions, Chicot) to ensure that Arrowhead may function properly against certain Boss Blinds.
  • Arrowhead works well with Wild Cards. This can allow base Heart, Club, and Diamond cards to benefit from Arrowhead.
  • Mult Cards, Lucky Cards, and Glass Cards also work well due to Arrowhead already providing a substantial amount of Chips.
  • Red Seals can increase the scoring power of Arrowhead, as with all other retrigger effects.
  • The World can turn some non-Spade cards into Spade cards allowing the player to see Spade cards easier.
  • The Lovers can turn some non-Spade cards into Wild Cards which trigger Arrowhead.
  • Death can turn some non-Spade cards into Spade cards.
  • The Hanged Man can remove some non-Spade cards.
  • Deja Vu can apply Red Seals onto Spade cards allowing for more Arrowhead triggers.

Anti-Synergies

Jokers

  • Castle as a fellow Chips Joker may be awkward to use alongside Arrowhead, especially if the current suit required for the round is Spades.
  • While Four Fingers can make Flushes easier to play, it enables the player to do so with less overall cards, therefore the scoring power of Arrowhead is weakened if the player opts for a 4-card Spade Flush.
    • It may be suitable to hunt for Planet cards and/or scaling Mult Jokers if Four Fingers must remain in conjunction with Arrowhead.
  • The Goad will debuff all Spade cards, meaning Arrowhead cannot activate.
  • The Pillar debuffs previously played cards in the Ante, which may debuff a substantial amount of the player's Spade cards if Arrowhead is essential to the current Joker Build.

Usage Notes

  • Unlocking Arrowhead is easiest on the Checkered Deck, which starts with 26 Spade cards, making it substantially easier to reach 30 Spade cards total.
