Shortcut is an Uncommon Effect-type Joker that allows Straights to be made with one or more gaps of 1 rank between cards (ex: 2 4 5 7 9). Like normal, Shortcut still does not allow "wrapping" Straights, so Aces remain either high or low and not both.

• Four Fingers (All {{ph|Flushes}} and {{ph|Straights}} can be made with 4 cards Uncommon Effect N/A (Passive) Four Fingers.png) is a great combination with Shortcut, as this allows for a 4-length Straight with gaps, and Straight Flushes become even easier to make since the Straight and Flush don't need to be on the same 4 cards. (e.g. Q♠️ J♠️ 9♥️ 7♠️ 3♠️ is a valid Straight Flush with both Jokers in effect)

Mathematically, Shortcut is slightly better than Four Fingers (All {{ph|Flushes}} and {{ph|Straights}} can be made with 4 cards Uncommon Effect N/A (Passive) Four Fingers.png) in creating Straights.^[1] However, Four Fingers is better at helping create Flushes and Straight Flushes. The player can consider choosing between the two, or combining the two to gain more Straights (in which case, Straights are almost always present in the 8 cards), but at the risk of losing two scoring Jokers.

• A shortcut is a quicker route from one place to another than the usual path, often taken by skipping across roads through side paths. Shortcut's effect is inspired by this; it allows players to 'skip' a number while still preserving the Straight.
