Midas Mask is an Uncommon Effect Joker that enhances scoring Face Cards into Gold Cards ({{money|3}} if this card is held in hand at end of round Gold Card.png). It will overwrite other Enhancements.

• Mad World ( ) starts with an Eternal Pareidolia (All cards are considered {{hl|orange|face}} cards Uncommon Effect N/A (Passive) Pareidolia.png), which makes it so that all cards are upgraded to Gold Cards when scored.

• Any five-card hand with five Face Cards will benefit Midas Mask the most. This includes Flush, Full House, Five of a Kind, Flush House, and Flush Five.
• Since it is slightly more difficult to make a Straight or Straight Flush with face cards than other cards, Midas Mask is slightly less useful if you have invested in those hands.
• Late game, playing small hands like High Card means you can keep more Gold Cards in hand.

• Mime (Retrigger all card {{hl|orange|held in hand}} abilities Uncommon Retrigger On Held Mime.png) means the Gold Cards make twice as much money.
• Midas Mask naturally synergizes with Smiley Face (Played {{hl|orange|face}} cards give {{mult|+5}} when scored Common Additive Mult On Scored Smiley Face.png), Scary Face (Played {{hl|orange|face}} cards give {{Chips|+30}} when scored Common Chips On Scored Scary Face.png), and Business Card (Played {{hl|orange|face}} cards have a {{hl|green|1 in 2}} chance to give {{Money|2}} when scored Common Economy On Scored Business_Card.png) when playing the face cards. However, you're not going to want to play your golden face cards later in the game.
• It has an extremely strong synergy with Pareidolia (All cards are considered {{hl|orange|face}} cards Uncommon Effect N/A (Passive) Pareidolia.png), which makes it so that all cards are upgraded to Gold Cards when scored.
  • Beware of using Stone Cards with this strategy, as it will turn them into regular Gold Cards with a random suit and rank.
• Golden Ticket (Played [[Gold Cards|{{hl|orange|Gold}}]] cards earn {{Money|4}} when scored Play a 5 card hand that contains only {{hl|orange|Gold}} cards Common Economy On Scored Golden Ticket.png) makes Gold Cards give +$4 when played.
• Vampire (This Joker gains {{xmult|0.1}} per scoring {{hl|orange|Enhanced card}} played, removes card {{hl|orange|Enhancement}} <br> {{Currently|{{xmult|1}}}} Uncommon Multiplicative Mult Mixed Vampire.png) removes card enhancements in exchange for X0.1 Mult per enhancement removed, making it a potent combination with Midas Mask as it creates a steady stream of XMult scaling.
  • Where Midas Mask is placed relative to the Vampire can affect this. Assuming a five-card hand of only face cards is played, when placed to the left of Vampire, it guarantees that Vampire will gain X0.5 Mult, as it will apply the Gold Card effect, then Vampire's enhancement removal effect. However, when Midas Mask is placed to the right, Vampire's enhancement removal applies before Midas Mask, guaranteeing that all face cards are Gold Cards when reshuffled into the deck. This can be helpful to prepare additional face cards for future Vampire scaling.
• Midas Mask is inherently anti-synergistic with Ride the Bus (This Joker gains {{Mult|+1}} per {{hl|orange|consecutive}} hand played without a scoring {{hl|orange|face}} card <br> {{Currently|{{Mult|+0}}}} Common Additive Mult Mixed Ride the Bus.png) and Reserved Parking (Each {{hl|orange|face}} card held in hand has a {{hl|green|1 in 2}} chance to give {{Money|1}} Common Economy On Held Reserved Parking.png), however, if the player is able to convert most of the face cards in the deck with Midas Mask before acquiring these Jokers, then they may be able to benefit substantially.
• Finally, Driver's License ({{xmult|3}} if you have at least {{hl|orange|16}} Enhanced cards in your full deck <br> {{Currently|{{hl|orange|0}}}} Enhance 16 cards in your deck Rare Multiplicative Mult Independent Driver's License.png) becomes a nearly free X3 Mult when all face cards are gold.

• This Joker is close to useless on the Abandoned Deck ( Start run with no {{F|}}[[Card Ranks#Face cards|{{hl|orange|Face Cards}}]] in your deck Win a run with the {{D|Green}} on [[Stakes|any difficulty]] Abandoned Deck.png) and Medusa ( ) since it has no face cards.

• The Plant ( Boss The Plant.png) debuffs all face cards, preventing Midas Mask from making any gold cards for the round.
• The Pillar ( Boss The Pillar.png) may be problematic, as played face cards of the Ante will be debuffed upon entering the Boss Blind.

• The Fragile ( ) challenge bans Midas Mask.

• Midas Mask's name and ability are a reference to King Midas, a king of Greek myth who was cursed to turn anything he touched to gold (often referred to as the "Midas touch"). The effect of turning only face cards gold reflects how it's a mask.
