Chicot is one of the five Legendary Jokers that can be generated from using The Soul (Creates a [[Legendary Jokers|{{hl|purple|Legendary}}]] Joker <br> {{room}} Available from start. Spectral The Soul.png) Spectral card, which in itself has a 3 in 1000 (0.3%) chance to replace any given card in a Spectral Pack or Arcana Pack.

Chicot eliminates all Boss Blind effects, reducing their required win conditions to 2x base chips (besides The Needle ( Boss The Needle.png), which won't have its score increased).

• Black Deck ( {{hl|orange|+1}} Joker slot <br> {{hl|blue|-1}} hand every round Discover at least {{hl|orange|100}} items from your [[collection]] Black Deck.png) has +1 Joker slot, which leaves more room for scoring Jokers.

Boss Blinds can affect almost every Joker in the game, and thus be helped by Chicot, but many Jokers have notable weaknesses to particular Boss Blinds. Chicot can negate the holes in these Jokers' defenses:

• Photograph (First played {{hl|orange|face}} card gives {{xmult|2}} when scored Common Multiplicative Mult On Scored Photograph.png), Smiley Face (Played {{hl|orange|face}} cards give {{mult|+5}} when scored Common Additive Mult On Scored Smiley Face.png), and other Face Card Jokers no longer fear The Plant ( Boss The Plant.png).
• Bloodstone ({{hl|green|1 in 2}} chance for played cards with {{suit|Heart}} suit to give {{xmult|1.5}} when scored Have at least {{hl|orange|30}} cards with {{hl|orange|Heart}} suit in your deck Uncommon Multiplicative Mult On Scored Bloodstone.png), Seeing Double ({{xmult|2}} if played hand has a scoring {{suit|Club}} card and a scoring card of any other suit Play a hand that contains {{hl|orange|four}} <abbr title="Other suits that count as clubs (e.g. wild suits) with rank 7 will also count.">{{hl|orange|7 of Clubs}}</abbr> Uncommon Multiplicative Mult Independent Seeing_Double.png), and other Card Suit Jokers can ignore their respective Boss Blinds.

• Card Sharp ({{xmult|3}} if played {{hl|orange|poker hand}} has already been played this round Uncommon Multiplicative Mult Independent Card_Sharp.png), Supernova (Adds the number of times [[Poker Hands|{{hl|orange|poker hand}}]] has been played this run to Mult Common Additive Mult Independent Supernova.png), and other Jokers limited by Poker Hand-limiting Boss Blinds.

Disabling a boss blind reverses its effect, and due to the timing involved, multiple copies of Chicot () will all disable the Boss Blind, resulting in a net positive effect:

• The Wall ( Boss The Wall.png): Score requirement is reduced by a factor of 2 for each copy of Chicot.
• The Water ( Boss The Water.png): Gains the number of discards originally as extra discards for each copy of Chicot.
• The Manacle ( Boss The Manacle.png): +1 extra Hand size for each copy of Chicot (permanently).
  • This can be useful for using Ectoplasm (Add [[Card Modifiers#Editions|{{hl|edition|Negative}}]] to a random {{hl|orange|Joker,}} {{hl|red|-1}} hand size Available from start. Spectral Ectoplasm.png) more times in the same run than usually possible.
• The Needle ( Boss The Needle.png): Gains (the number of hands originally - 1) extra hands for each copy of Chicot.
• Violet Vessel ( Showdown Violet Vessel.png): Score is reduced by a factor of 3 for each copy of Chicot.

Since Chicot is not compatible with Blueprint (Copies ability of [[Jokers|{{Hl|orange|Joker}}]] to the right Win a run Rare Effect Blueprint.png)/ Brainstorm (Copies the ability of leftmost [[Jokers|{{hl|orange|Joker}}]] Discard a {{ph|Royal Flush}}. Rare Effect Brainstorm.png), this occurrence can only be achieved through Joker duplicating means like Invisible Joker (After {{hl|orange|2}} rounds, sell this card to {{hl|orange|Duplicate}} a random Joker <br> {{currently|{{hl|orange|0}}/2}} <br> {{hl|gray|(Removes [[Negative|{{hl|edition|Negative}}]] from copy)}} Win a run without ever having more than {{hl|orange|4 Jokers}} Rare Effect N/A (Passive) Invisible Joker.png) or Ankh (Create a copy of a random [[Jokers|{{hl|orange|Joker}}]], destroy all other Jokers <br> {{hl|gray|(Removes {{hl|edition|Negative}} from copy)}} Available from start. This interaction may actually be a bug, and might be patched in the future.

Because of its distinctive effect as a utility Joker, Chicot normally does not benefit from any particular voucher. However, if the player has multiple copies of Chicot, Director's Cut (Reroll [[Blinds|Boss Blind]] {{hl|orange|1}} time per Ante, {{Money|10}} per roll Base Director's Cut.png) and Retcon (Reroll [[Blinds|Boss Blind]] {{hl|orange|unlimited}} times, {{Money|10}} per roll Discover 25 Blinds Upgraded Retcon.png) can be considered for the positive effects mentioned above.

• Painted Deck ( {{hl|orange|+2}} hand size, <br> {{hl|red|-1}} Joker slot Win a run with any [[Decks|deck]] on the {{Stake|Green}} difficulty or harder Painted Deck.png), Blast Off ( ) and Cruelty ( ) penalize holding non-scoring Jokers like Chicot with their reduced Joker slots.

• As Luchador (Sell this card to disable the current [[Blinds|{{hl|orange|Boss Blind}}]] Uncommon Effect N/A (Passive) Luchador.png) also disable Boss blinds, functionally overlapping with Chicot, Luchador becomes a redundant pickup.
• Matador (Earn {{Money|8}} if played hand triggers the {{hl|orange|Boss Blind}} ability Defeat a Boss Blind in {{hl|orange|1 hand}} without using any discards Uncommon Economy Independent Matador.png) also does not work, as it activates based on Boss Blind effects.

• The Director's Cut (Reroll [[Blinds|Boss Blind]] {{hl|orange|1}} time per Ante, {{Money|10}} per roll Base Director's Cut.png) and Retcon (Reroll [[Blinds|Boss Blind]] {{hl|orange|unlimited}} times, {{Money|10}} per roll Discover 25 Blinds Upgraded Retcon.png) vouchers are usually made obsolete with the possession of Chicot, since Boss Blind effects are no longer a concern.

• Chicot (c. 1540–1591), real name Jean-Antoine d'Anglerais, was the jester of King Henry III of France, and later Henry IV. He was sharp-tongued, very cunning, spoke with the king without formalities, and often participated in battle. Chicot disabling Boss Blinds in the game is likely a reference to this.
• This Joker is animated, with Chicot hovering just above the red card face.
