Supernova is a Common Additive Mult Joker that adds Mult based on the number of times that the scoring hand has been played in the current run. Consistently playing the same hands will result in a constantly increasing Mult boost, which can stay useful until late game. The effect is retroactive, meaning players immediately benefit from all the past hands they played before buying this Joker.

Supernova works well with all decks, though it can find particular synergy when playing with a strategy that matches the deck to the poker hand, like Checkered Deck ( Start run with {{hl|orange|26}} {{suit|Spades}} and {{hl|orange|26}} {{suit|Hearts}} in deck Win a run with the {{D|Black}} on any difficulty Checkered Deck.png) and Flush.

The key to Supernova is to play the same hand consistently. Hands that can reliably be made, especially in the early game, help Supernova flourish. Furthermore, the more hands played, the better, so a build focusing on high base mult and chips hands (like straight flush) can prevent you from using all your hands to boost Supernova. This makes Supernova particularly powerful when matched with hands like High Card or Pair.

Supernova has synergy with the following Jokers:

• Burglar (When [[Blind|{{hl|orange|Blind}}]] is selected, gain {{hl|blue|+3}} Hands and {{hl|orange|lose all discards}} Uncommon Effect On Blind Select Burglar.png) replaces discards with hands, resulting in more available hands, thus allowing Supernova to scale faster.
• Green Joker ({{mult|+1}} per hand played <br> {{mult|-1}} per discard <br> {{Currently|{{mult|+0}}}} Common Additive Mult Mixed Green_Joker.png) is an additive mult card that grows as more hands are played (however, Green Joker also loses mult with discards, and having multiple additive mult cards can limit your run's potential above Ante 9 or 10).
• Card Sharp ({{xmult|3}} if played {{hl|orange|poker hand}} has already been played this round Uncommon Multiplicative Mult Independent Card_Sharp.png) gives X3 Mult when the same hand is played more than once in a round.
• Space Joker ({{hl|green|1 in 4}} chance to upgrade level of played [[Poker Hands|{{hl|orange|poker hand}}]] Uncommon Effect On Played Space Joker.png) gives a 1 in 4 chance of upgrading a hand when it's played. By playing only one hand type consistently to boost Supernova, you can achieve very high levels for said hand.
• Burnt Joker (Upgrade the level of the first {{hl|orange|discarded}} poker hand each round Sell 50 cards. Rare Effect On Discard Burnt Joker.png) easily allows leveling up a poker hand without planet cards (at the effective cost of 1 discard), which is extra beneficial when a single poker hand type is being played.
