Lucky Cat is an Uncommon scaling Multiplicative Mult Joker that gains X0.25 Mult each time a Lucky Card successfully triggers, and starts at X1 Mult. A card that triggers both the Money and Mult effects at the same time will only count as one activation for Lucky Cat.

Lucky Cat will only appear in the shop after you have at least one Lucky Card in your deck.

Synergies

  • Zodiac Deck starting with Overstock and Tarot Merchant improves the chances of finding The Magician in shop.
  • Magic Deck starts with two copies of The Fool, increasing the player's initial amount of Lucky Cards when finding The Magician.

While Lucky Cat technically affects all hands evenly, five-card hands allow more Lucky Cards to be played at once, increasing the potential for a successful trigger, such as:

  • Oops! All 6s doubles the odds of Lucky Cards' effects activating. Three copies will guarantee the Mult activation, and therefore, the Xmult for Lucky Cat.
  • Splash allows five Lucky Cards to be scored in case they can't form a five-card poker hand.
  • Driver's License may benefit with enough Lucky Cards in the Deck to activate its conditional X3 Mult.
  • Retrigger Jokers are very beneficial, as they increase the odds of a successful trigger, further scaling Lucky Cat.
    • Hack and Sock and Buskin both retrigger cards of certain ranks.
    • Seltzer retriggers all cards played for 10 hands.
    • Dusk retriggers all cards played on the final hand.
    • Hanging Chad retriggers the first card played twice, benefiting the player as long as the Lucky Card is placed first.
  • Red Seals double the opportunities for the Lucky Card to trigger.

Consumables

  • The Magician can make more Lucky Cards.
  • Death can turn some cards into Lucky Cards.
  • The Hanged Man can remove non-Lucky Cards.
  • Deja Vu can apply Red Seals onto Lucky Cards, increasing their chance to activate.

Anti-synergies

Decks

  • Bram Poker makes Lucky Cat useless due to the Eternal Vampire this deck starts with.

Jokers

  • Vampire is not recommended, as it removes the Lucky enhancement when scored, making Lucky Cat impossible to scale.
  • Midas Mask converts all face cards into Gold Cards, therefore overriding the previous Enhancement.

Blinds

  • The Pillar debuffs previously played cards of the Ante, which may make some Lucky Cards unusable.
  • The Fish can potentially make it hard to play hands with Lucky Cards if multiple hands are required to defeat the Boss Blind.

Trivia

  • Many Asian countries have superstitions about cats being lucky, specifically the Maneki-neko (or 'waving cat'), which is a figurine based on the calico Japanese Bobtail cat breed, which is believed to give good luck to the owner.
  • This Joker is part of a series, along with Stone Joker, Steel Joker, Glass Joker, and Golden Ticket, where the Joker only appears once players have at least one card with the relevant enhancement in their deck.
