8 Ball is a Common Effect Joker that has a 1 in 4 chance to generate a Tarot card whenever an 8 is scored.

Compared to other Tarot-generating jokers, 8 Ball is slow to begin with. You would need to draw and play all four 8s in your deck to simply match the expected value of a Cartomancer (Create a [[Tarot Cards|{{hl|purple|Tarot}}]] card when [[Blinds|{{hl|orange|Blind}}]] is selected <br> {{room}} Discover every Tarot Card. Uncommon Effect On Blind Select Cartomancer.png), and even then, it's not unlikely that you'll whiff every trigger and end up with no Tarots for your effort. However, if you're patient enough to play towards it, you'll find it's one of the most effective Tarot generators in the game. Unlike other Jokers of its kind, an 8 Ball at maximum efficiency can create multiple Tarots per hand without copy effects, outpacing even a Vagabond (Create a [[Tarot Cards|{{hl|purple|Tarot}}]] card if hand is played with {{Money|4}} or less Rare Effect Independent Vagabond.png).

The deck-fixing properties that Tarot cards provide can make it easier to play more 8s and thus recursively create more Tarots. The enhancements can help with scoring as well, making up for the rank's relative lack of scoring Jokers. All of this is especially effective if the player is able to get a Red Seal (Retrigger this card {{hl|orange|1}} time Red Seal.png) on one of their 8s and then repeatedly copy it.

• Abandoned Deck ( Start run with no {{F|}}[[Card Ranks#Face cards|{{hl|orange|Face Cards}}]] in your deck Win a run with the {{D|Green}} on [[Stakes|any difficulty]] Abandoned Deck.png) and Mad World ( ) work best with 8 Ball, as the smaller deck size allows for 8s to be played easier.
• Magic Deck ( Start run with the {{V|Crystal Ball|class=hl-purple}} voucher and {{hl|orange|2}} copies of {{tarot|The Fool}} Win a run with the {{D|Red}} on [[Stakes|any difficulty]] Magic Deck.png)'s extra consumable slot is very helpful to hold useful Tarot Cards.

• Five of a Kind or Flush Five works well once the player has a lot of 8s.

• DNA (If {{hl|orange|first hand}} of round has only {{hl|orange|1}} card, add a permanent copy to deck and draw it to {{hl|orange|hand}} Rare Effect On Played DNA.png) can be used to generate more 8s every blind.
• 8s do not have a retrigger Joker associated with their rank. Hanging Chad is particularly effective, as even if the player is not playing towards 8 Ball, a stray High Card 8 is much more likely to provide value.

• The visual design of this card is based on the Magic 8 Ball, which itself is based on the 8 ball used in pool or billiards. The user holds the ball with the 8 facing them and asks the Magic 8 Ball a question. They then turn it over, and one of 20 answers (usually a variation on yes, no, or maybe) will appear in a window on the back of the ball.
