Astronomer is an Uncommon Effect-type Joker that sets the cost of all Planet Cards and Celestial Packs to $0, making them free to purchase.

• Zodiac Deck ( Start run with {{V|Tarot Merchant|class=hl-purple}}, {{V|Planet Merchant|class=hl-cyan}}, and {{V|Overstock|class=hl-orange}} Win a run with any [[Decks|deck]] on the {{Stake|Red}} difficulty or harder Zodiac Deck.png) works best with Astronomer thanks to the increased Planet card frequency in the shop.
• Nebula Deck ( Start run with the {{V|Telescope|class=hl-cyan}} voucher <br> {{hl|red|-1}} consumable slot Win a run with the {{D|Blue}} on [[Stakes|any difficulty]] Nebula Deck.png) makes Celestial Packs always give a planet card of your most played hand, which may make the free Celestial Packs more useful.
• Blast Off ( ) starts with an Eternal Constellation (This Joker gains {{xmult|0.1}} every time a [[Planet_Cards|{{hl|cyan|Planet}}]] card is used <br> {{currently|{{xmult|1}}}} Uncommon Multiplicative Mult Independent Constellation.png) and Planet Merchant ({{Planet|}} cards appear {{hl|orange|2X}} more frequently in the shop Base Planet Merchant.png) and Planet Tycoon ([[Planet Cards|{{hl|cyan|Planet}}]] cards appear {{hl|orange|4X}} more frequently in the shop Buy a total of 50 Planet cards from the shop Upgraded Planet Tycoon.png) vouchers, which Astronomer can help proc the given Constellation, and is doubly helpful with the provided Planet Merchant and Planet Tycoon vouchers.

• Satellite (Earn {{Money|1}} at end of round per unique {{hl|cyan|Planet}} card used this run Have at least {{Money|400}}. Uncommon Economy N/A (Passive) Satellite.png): The free planet cards and packs allow it to reach its cap faster.
• Campfire (This Joker gains {{xmult|0.25}} for each card {{hl|orange|sold}}, resets when [[Blinds|{{hl|orange|Boss Blind}}]] is defeated <br> {{currently|{{xmult|1}}}} Rare Multiplicative Mult Independent Campfire.png): Buying and selling Planet Cards will gain you some money while also scaling Campfire.
• Red Card (This Joker gains {{Mult|+3}} when any [[Booster Packs|{{hl|orange|Booster Pack}}]] is skipped <br> {{Currently|{{mult|+0}}}} Common Additive Mult Independent Red_Card.png): Since celestial packs are now completely free, the player can get it scaled up quickly by buying and skipping packs without hurting their economy.
• Baseball Card ([[Uncommon Jokers|{{hl|green|Uncommon}}]] Jokers each give {{xmult|1.5}} Rare Multiplicative Mult On Other Jokers Baseball Card.png): With Astronomer being an uncommon Joker, it benefits from Baseball Card, as it will now provide X1.5 Mult.

• Planet Merchant ({{Planet|}} cards appear {{hl|orange|2X}} more frequently in the shop Base Planet Merchant.png) and Planet Tycoon ([[Planet Cards|{{hl|cyan|Planet}}]] cards appear {{hl|orange|4X}} more frequently in the shop Buy a total of 50 Planet cards from the shop Upgraded Planet Tycoon.png) make Planet Cards appear more often.
• Telescope ([[Booster Packs|{{hl|orange|Celestial Packs}}]] always contain the [[Planet Cards|{{hl|cyan|Planet}}]] card for your most played [[Poker Hands|{{hl|orange|poker hand}}]] Base Telescope.png) guarantees a specific planet in every Celestial Pack, making Astronomer more useful to keep in return.
• Overstock ({{hl|orange|+1}} card slot available in shop Base Overstock.png), Overstock Plus ({{hl|orange|+1}} card slot available in shop Spend a total of {{Money|2500}} at the shop Upgraded Overstock Plus.png), Reroll Surplus (Rerolls cost {{Money|2}} less Base Reroll Surplus.png), and Reroll Glut (Rerolls cost an additional {{Money|2}} less Reroll the shop a total of 100 times Upgraded Reroll Glut.png) all allow the player to see more cards (and thus more Planet Cards) in the shop.

• As planet cards still sell for $1, Astronomer can be used to make money by buying and selling all planet cards instead of using them.

• During the first playtest build, Astronomer only provided free Planet Cards in the shop. Upon release, it was buffed to provide free planet cards and free Celestial Packs.
• This joker's art is stylised to mimic a Planet card, mirroring Cartomancer (Create a [[Tarot Cards|{{hl|purple|Tarot}}]] card when [[Blinds|{{hl|orange|Blind}}]] is selected <br> {{room}} Discover every Tarot Card. Uncommon Effect On Blind Select Cartomancer.png), which has comparable unlock requirements to Astronomer and is stylised to mimic a Tarot card.
