Fibonacci is an Uncommon Additive Mult Joker that gives +8 Mult every time an Ace, 2, 3, 5, or 8 scores.

Synergies

  • Thanks to the absence of face cards, Abandoned Deck has a greater concentration of cards favorable by Fibonacci, and thus works really well with it.
  • Mad World will also work as well, although this deck doesn't start with any Aces.
  • Erratic Deck could also contain a great number of Aces, 2s, 3s, 5s or 8s, which is preferred for Fibonacci usage.
  • As Three of a Kind, Full House and Four of a Kind all utilize a number of the same rank, they often work really well with Fibonacci. Low-ended Straight also makes great use of Fibonacci.
  • Flush is difficult early on, but can earn +40 Mult from Fibonacci in an unmodified deck, and diligent suit conversion can make triggering Fibonacci a simple matter of picking ranks.
  • Hack retriggers 2s, 3s and 5s, giving at least +8 Mult when one of the ranks is played and scored.
  • Scholar also triggers off of Aces.
  • Wee Joker gains +8 Chips when a 2 is scored, on top of the +8 Mult provided by Fibonacci.
  • Hanging Chad retriggers the first scoring card in a played hand twice, giving +16 Mult if the first scored card triggers Fibonacci.
  • Ride the Bus accumulates +Mult very easily when paired with Fibonacci, since the player wants to use ranks that are not face cards, boosting Ride the Bus in the process.
  • Shortcut lets the player utilize the rare scenario of the Straight A 3 5 7 8 or A 2 3 [4] 5 [6/7] for maximum Fibonacci value. A 2 3 5 8 is, unfortunately, not a valid Straight even with Shortcut.
  • Splash allows tossing Fibonacci cards into a poker hand that otherwise wouldn't score them for extra Mult.
  • Smeared Joker can make Flush builds easier early on by enabling such hands as ♦️A ♦️3 ♥️A ♥️5 ♥️8.
  • Odd Todd gives +31 Chips for Aces, 5s and 3s.
  • Even Steven gives +4 Mult for 8s and 2s.
  • Suit Tarots ( The Moon, The World, The Star, and The Sun) can convert Fibonacci cards into a single suit, making it simpler to play them in Flushes, and The Lovers can assist this strategy early on before the suits are sufficiently uniform.

Anti-synergies

  • 15 Minute City doesn't work well with Fibonacci due to lack of Aces, 2s, and 3s by default.

Trivia

  • The Fibonacci sequence is a mathematical pattern where the next number in the pattern is found by adding the two previous numbers together. It can be found in nature, such as in how certain plants flower or fruits grow. If the pattern is started with zero/one, it goes: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, and so on. This is represented by the ranks Ace (1), 2, 3, 5 and 8 triggering it, its effect of +8 Mult for those cards, and its price of $8.
  • The card art shows a Fibonacci spiral, an approximation of the Golden spiral. The distance between the center and the spiral gets multiplied by a certain factor for every quarter turn it makes. This factor approaches the golden ratio (≈1.618) as the Fibonacci numbers approach infinity.
