The Plant is a Boss Blind that debuffs all of the face cards. This includes cards with a "King", "Queen", or "Jack" rank, and cards affected by Pareidolia (All cards are considered {{hl|orange|face}} cards Uncommon Effect N/A (Passive) Pareidolia.png).

• The Mad World ( ) challenge bans The Plant.

• Pareidolia (All cards are considered {{hl|orange|face}} cards Uncommon Effect N/A (Passive) Pareidolia.png) makes The Plant debuff every card as every card is considered to be a face card.
• Jokers that interact with face cards, such as Photograph (First played {{hl|orange|face}} card gives {{xmult|2}} when scored Common Multiplicative Mult On Scored Photograph.png), Smiley Face (Played {{hl|orange|face}} cards give {{mult|+5}} when scored Common Additive Mult On Scored Smiley Face.png), and Baron (Each {{hl|orange|King}} held in hand gives {{xmult|1.5}} Rare Multiplicative Mult On Held Baron.png) are completely unusable.
• For builds that rely on face cards, the only method to "defeat" The Plant is to avoid it entirely.
  • Luchador (Sell this card to disable the current [[Blinds|{{hl|orange|Boss Blind}}]] Uncommon Effect N/A (Passive) Luchador.png) and Chicot (Disables effect of every [[Blinds|{{hl|orange|Boss Blind}}]] Find this [[Jokers|Joker]] from the [[Spectral Cards|{{hl|sblue|Soul}}]] card.   • Director's Cut (Reroll [[Blinds|Boss Blind]] {{hl|orange|1}} time per Ante, {{Money|10}} per roll Base Director's Cut.png) and Retcon (Reroll [[Blinds|Boss Blind]] {{hl|orange|unlimited}} times, {{Money|10}} per roll Discover 25 Blinds Upgraded Retcon.png) allow the player to pay $10 to reroll the current Boss Blind.
  • Boss Tag ( Boss tag.png) rerolls the Boss Blind for no cost.
• On the contrary, Ride the Bus (This Joker gains {{Mult|+1}} per {{hl|orange|consecutive}} hand played without a scoring {{hl|orange|face}} card <br> {{Currently|{{Mult|+0}}}} Common Additive Mult Mixed Ride the Bus.png) actually benefits from The Plant. Its Mult bonus will not be reset, even if a (debuffed) face card is played.

• The icon for The Plant is the Phoenician letter Tsade (𐤑), which represents a papyrus plant or fish Hook in the hieroglyphics from which it is derived.
