Gold Seal

Gold Seal
Effect
Earn $3 when this card is played and scores

The Gold Seal is a Seal card modifier that gives $3 if a playing card with this seal is played and scored. A card with a Gold Seal will give an additional $3 per retrigger, and $0 if it is debuffed. This effect is very similar to Gold Cards, but awarding money when played rather than when held in hand.

Acquisition

  • Talisman adds a Gold Seal to 1 selected card.
  • Certificate can create a random playing card with a Gold Seal when the round starts.
  • Standard Packs can contain playing cards with Gold Seals.
  • More cards with Gold Seals can be created with the Death Tarot card and DNA if the player already has at least 1 Gold Seal card in their deck.

Strategy

  • It is recommended to put Gold Seals on cards intended to be played often, and cards that can naturally be retriggered by certain Jokers, like face cards for Sock and Buskin or 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s for Hack.
  • It is always a good idea to play a Gold Seal card, even if it doesn't contribute much to the score, if the player has spare hands. Losing $1 for playing a hand and gaining at least $3 back is almost always a good trade-off.

Synergies

  • Hanging Chad can retrigger a Gold Seal 2 additional times, providing an extra $6.
  • Sock and Buskin gives an extra $3 per played face card with a Gold Seal.
  • Hack is similar to Sock and Buskin, but applies to 2s, 3s, 4s, and 5s instead.
  • Dusk gives extra money from all scored Gold Seals on the last hand of the round.
  • Burglar allows for more Gold Seals to be scored in a round.
  • Economy-based scalers, such as Bull, Bootstraps, and Flash Card, appreciate the extra money brought in by Gold Seals.
  • Grabber and Nacho Tong provide more opportunities to score Gold Seals.
  • Stone Cards with a Gold Seal can be added to any less than 5 card hand to easily earn $3.
  • Lucky Cards with a Gold Seal will give $4.3 on average when played.

Anti-Synergies

  • Vagabond is harder to use as scoring a Gold Seal can bring the player over the $4 barrier, preventing the player from getting a Tarot card on the next hand.
