The Goad is a Boss Blind that debuffs all of the cards with a  Spade suit.

• This boss hard counters Wrathful Joker (Played cards with {{Suit|Spade}} suit give {{Mult|+3}} when scored Common Additive Mult On Scored Wrathful Joker.png) and Arrowhead (Played cards with {{suit|Spade}} suit give {{Chips|+50}} when scored Have at least {{hl|orange|30}} cards with {{hl|orange|Spade}} suit in your deck Uncommon Chips On Scored Arrowhead.png) by debuffing  Spade cards.
• Smeared Joker ({{suit|Hearts}} and {{suit|Diamonds}} count as the same suit, {{suit|Spades}} and {{suit|Clubs}} count as the same suit Have at least {{hl|orange|3}} [[Wild Cards|{{hl|orange|Wild Card}}]] in your deck Uncommon Effect N/A (Passive) Smeared Joker.png) can be harmful to your build by counting  Club cards as  Spade cards, which result in them being debuffed.
• Having consumables like The Moon (Converts up to {{hl|orange|3}} selected cards to {{Suit|Clubs}} Available from start. Tarot The Moon.png) to change your cards into a different suit for this blind can help you score cards. However, using The Lovers (Enhances {{hl|orange|1}} selected card into a [[Card Modifiers|{{hl|orange|Wild Card}}]] Available from start. Tarot The Lovers.png) will result in a debuffed card since a Wild Card (Can be used as any suit Wild Card.png) counts as a  Spade.
• Checkered Deck ( Start run with {{hl|orange|26}} {{suit|Spades}} and {{hl|orange|26}} {{suit|Hearts}} in deck Win a run with the {{D|Black}} on any difficulty Checkered Deck.png) has half of its cards debuffed since it starts with 26  Spade cards.

• The icon for the Goad is the Phoenician letter Lamedh (𐤋), which represents a shepherd’s crook or goad in the hieroglyphics from which it is derived.
