There are several documented methods on YouTube to achieving a Naneinf score, which all require specific set-ups that use the Baron and Mime Jokers, with differing methods for achieving a large hand size of Kings modified with a Red Seal and Steel. This video is a good visual guide, and what this page is based on.

Number of red seal Steel Kings required (assuming High card lvl. 1)
No. of Baron triggers No. of Mime triggers No. 1.5x triggers per King No. of red seal Steel Kings in hand
Traditional scoring deck (4 Blueprints) 3 3 20 88
Traditional scoring deck (5 Blueprints) 4 3 25 70
Plasma deck (4 Blueprints) 3 3 20 44
Plasma deck (5 Blueprints) 4 3 25 36

Unseeded Naneinf without Legendary Jokers

This method can be performed at any stake for any unseeded run, and does not require any Legendary Jokers.

Jokers

Required Key Jokers

  • Baron and Mime. The combo that gives X1.5 Mult multiple times to each King.
  • Four of Blueprint and Brainstorm, at least one Blueprint. Use two each to copy your Baron and Mime or three copy on Baron and one on Mime.
  • Burglar. Copy this 4 times when The Serpent is selected to create 3x5 = 15 extra hands.

Other useful Jokers

  • Economy Jokers:
    • Mail-In Rebate generates $5 per copy of Mail-In Rebate, per discarded King, but be sure to have at least 8 Kings in hand after all Discards.
    • Golden Ticket generates $8 per copy of Golden Ticket, per played Red Seal Gold King, which can be increased with retrigger Jokers.
    • Reserved Parking generates $1 on average per copy of Reserved Parking, per Red Seal King held in hand, which can be increased with copies of Mime.
  • Diet Cola - buy and sell this whenever you see it to collect Double Tag Tags to allow you to copy the Voucher Tag Tag in the late game. Prioritize this over any other card in your 7th slot until you have all the essential Vouchers.
  • Showman allows duplicate cards to appear in the shop, and is extremely useful for finding extra Blueprints and Brainstorms.
  • Invisible Joker duplicates a random held Joker, but only becomes active after 2 rounds. Useful for obtaining extra Blueprints and Brainstorms, though this is slower and riskier than Showman with a good source of economy.
  • DNA creates 5 new enhanced Kings per Blind once you have your four copy Jokers set up. You only need to hold this Joker until you have enough Red Seal Steel Kings in your deck and are past Ante 24.
  • Burglar is only required right before you attempt the Naneinf. Make sure you have a large amount of money saved for multiple shop re-rolls (>$2000). There are 7 antes to find the Burglar before Ante 31, so it is recommended to evenly spread out rerolls between all shops until Ante 31 to find it most efficiently. Ensure at least $250 is saved per round to be able to reroll the boss into The Serpent to be able to survive.

Deck

This method requires the Plasma Deck since this Deck squares the average of your Chips and Mult scores, enabling higher scoring.

Captured from Balatro Calculator

Set Up

45 Red Seal Steel Kings in hand while using Plasma Deck, Baron and Mime, and 4 copiers (e.g. 2 Blueprints and 2 Brainstorms) to create over 20 hands with Burglar against The Serpent. This scores over 1.8e308 (the Naneinf threshold).

Minimum of 7 Joker slots required

Starting with 5 slots, gain +1 from the Antimatter, and +1 from using Ectoplasm on a key Joker.

Minimum hand size of 9 required

Runs start with 8, and you can gain +2 from the Paint Brush and Palette vouchers, but lose -1 from Ectoplasm. A 2nd Ectoplasm is risky, as it further reduces hand size by -2. This means the player may need a hand size, scoring, or copy Joker to survive the next round, and must find an extra one to beat Ante 24.

Minimum of 20 hands required

Runs start with 4 hands per Blind, but this can be increased by +2 from the Grabber and Nacho Tong vouchers. Burglar copied 4 times generates 15 more hands, giving a total of 21 hands for your Naneinf scoring round. If Hieroglyph is used, you will need both hand vouchers, which is fine as you have until ante 31 to obtain these.

Serpent Boss

This non-Showdown Boss Blind allows you to draw 3 cards and add them to your hand after playing or discarding even just one card. Effectively you can increase your hand size by double the number of hands you have minus one (the last hand which you need to play to score), i.e., (21-1) x 2 = 40, giving you 40 + 8 Red Seal Steel Kings in your hand = 48. The Retcon voucher is essential to re-roll for this Boss, since it is not guaranteed to appear when you need it. Make sure you have enough money to re-roll multiple times ($10 per roll).

Timing

Since the Naneinf technique requires you to use The Serpent to increase your hand size to over 44, and this Boss is only available on non-Showdown Boss rounds (i.e., not on rounds 8, 16, 24, or 32), you need to time your Naneinf play appropriately. You should aim to do this after the point at which abusing the Serpent does not beat the score target prematurely (hence finishing the Blind without achieving Naneinf), but before the Ante scores get too high. This happens after Ante 24 (because unless the player has 5 or more copy Jokers, 1 Baron and 1 Mime will score enough to beat Ante 23 before enough hands have been spent to get at least 44 Red Seal Steel Kings in hand). To get past the Showdown Boss on Ante 24 you must beat scores higher than e77 by using DNA or Turtle Bean to increase your hand size by +5, which allows you to reach scores of e87. To progress past ante 25 you must skip all Small Blinds and Big Blinds and re-roll for The Serpent boss. Ante 32 is the limit for most Naneinf runs without Perkeo because it is a Showdown Boss, and hence The Serpent cannot be used. In practice, Naneinf with this method is most easily achievable between Antes 25 and 31, giving you 7 attempts at finding a Burglar between rounds. However, Ante 32 can be beaten without Perkeo too, as showcased in this run.

Required Vouchers

This set up requires specific Vouchers in order to be successful. Which voucher appears at the start of each round is largely up to chance, but you can work around this by collecting a number of Double Tag to store up for use in the late game. Collected Double Tags can be used to copy the Voucher Tag. You can accumulate Double Tags in two ways: skipping Blinds that give a Double Tag (which is not worth the lost value from playing the blind), or buying and selling Diet Cola. The Voucher Tag is not worth taking until many Double Tags have been stockpiled.

Essential vouchers for Naneinf

  • Blank and Antimatter to get another Joker slot.
  • Paint Brush and Palette to increase hand size by 2.
  • Director's Cut and Retcon for infinite Boss re-rolls.

Useful Vouchers

  • Grabber and Nacho Tong for extra hands.
  • Seed Money and Money Tree for extra interest.
  • Tarot Merchant to display more Tarot cards in the shop.
  • Wasteful and Recyclomancy for extra discards.
  • Telescope to guarantee the Planet card for your most played hand in Celestial packs.
  • Crystal Ball for the extra consumable slot, and Omen Globe to generate Spectral cards.
  • Reroll Surplus and Reroll Glut for cheaper re-rolls.
  • Clearance Sale and Liquidation for cheaper shop items.
  • Overstock and Overstock Plus to increase the shop size.
  • Hieroglyph and Petroglyph buy more time to earn money and find the required pieces to achieve Naneinf.
    • If Hieroglyph is taken then more hands, hand size, or scoring is required to make up for it, for example Nacho Tong
  • Magic Trick and Illusion can help with adding more cards to the deck as targets for Death, ensuring that at least 64 cards are in the deck when performing the Naneinf, without needing DNA.
    • The playing cards will dilute the shop, however they do not appear frequently enough to be significant.

Useless Vouchers

These vouchers do not help with getting Naneinf, but should still be bought so they will not reappear in the Shop, making it more likely to get one of other essential Vouchers over the next rounds.

  • Hone and Glow Up
  • Observatory

Actively bad Vouchers

These vouchers all dilute the cards shown in the shop with items you don't necessarily need. Buying these Vouchers lowers the chance of finding specific Jokers and Tarot cards that you need when the time comes to do extensive re-rolling.

  • Tarot Tycoon since Tarot Merchant is more than enough to ensure you get a decent number of Tarot cards
  • Planet Merchant and Planet Tycoon

Strategy (first 8 antes)

  • Your aim is to maximize money, find one or two copying Jokers, get at least one Red Seal Gold King and many Purple Seal Cards in your deck, and make your deck mostly Kings of 1 suit by round 8. You do not need Baron or Mime in the first 8 antes.
  • Surviving early Antes: Look for Jokers that give Chips in the early Antes. Stuntman one-shots the first 5 to 6 rounds easily on its own. Arrowhead gives +200 Chips for a Four of a Kind and +250 Chips for a Flush Five, not including retriggers. Otherwise, you can go for Hanging Chad and Photograph once you have some poker hands upgraded. Ideally you should have one or two cards that score, and the rest are flexible Joker slots to use for your economy and deck fixing. In the early game you can play whatever hands you want, but later on you should switch to high scoring hands such as Four of a Kind, or Flush Five. (Do not play Five of a Kind, as it scores less than Flush Five and will dilute the pool of Planet Cards, making the useful ones harder to find).
  • Red Seal Gold King: this is the core of the build, and should be your primary aim from the very first Blind. You should try to find a Red Seal King as soon as possible, which can be done in five ways:
    1. By opening standard card packs whenever you can afford to, looking for a Red Seal on a King. It is fine to grab a lower value card which can be upgraded using Strength, but don't go too low (e.g. a Red Seal 2 will be difficult to convert up to a King using Strength alone).
    2. Certificate has a 25% chance to add a card with a Red Seal at the start of each blind.
    3. Find a Deja Vu spectral card in spectral packs, and hope that a King (or card that can be reasonably strengthened) appears in hand when the pack opens.
    4. Use Sixth Sense to play and destroy a 6 in exchange for a spectral card, which has a 6.25% chance to be a Deja Vu - so it is worth remembering not to use The Hanged Man on your 6’s until you have a Red Seal card in your deck.
    5. If you have the Omen Globe Voucher, Spectral cards can appear in Arcana Packs (although you are unlikely to get this Voucher early on in the run).
  • Once you have one Red Seal King, you should aim to convert it immediately to a Gold Card, either using The Devil or Midas Mask. Red Seal Gold Cards trigger twice at the end of a round, further increasing your money. Once you have a Red Seal Gold King, you can work on copying it over and over again with the Death Tarot card.
  • While working on converting your deck to Red Seal Gold Kings, you should also be looking to thin your deck at the same time using The Hanged Man whenever you can. You should also use Justice to create Glass Cards cards which can be shattered, and The Tower to convert non-Kings to Stone (which cannot be targeted by Mail-In Rebate or The Idol). These all work together to thin your deck quickly and leave only Kings.
  • When converting all Kings to 1 suit, it is recommended to use  Spades in case an Arrowhead appears, or a suit corresponding to a suit debuffing boss like The Goad, The Head, The Club, or The Window that has already appeared in the run, to ensure that boss will not appear again and ruin the run.
  • In general, you should be opening every Arcana Pack each store to maximize your deck fixing possibilities, and starting each new Blind with at least two consumables in your slots to use during play. Once you start making lots of money each round, you should reroll before opening Arcana Packs to find Tarot cards which can be used inside of them, as you will already be rerolling to find useful Jokers.
  • You should find and copy Purple Seal Cards to create new consumables each round on Discard and significantly speed up deck fixing.
    • Medium can be used to create a Purple Seal King, through Sixth Sense, Spectral Packs, or Omen Globe. Purple Seals can also be found in Standard Packs.
    • Purple Seal Cards should be copied before Kings, as that will speed up deck fixing in the long run.
    • Purple Seal Cards should also converted into Kings using Strength if they are not already to ensure they can be used with The Idol, Mail-In Rebate, and Baron.
      • If they are not converted into Kings, they should be turned into Stone Cards so they do not affect The Idol or Mail-In Rebate.
  • Focus only on Planet Cards that will be useful - Pluto for the end game (level 10 is adequate, any further has diminishing returns but won't hurt), Mars for Four of a Kind in early Antes, and Eris for Flush Five for higher Antes.
  • Take all Diet Colas that you are offered, even if this means selling useful Jokers to make space. Do not skip any Blinds except for the Voucher Tag after enough Double Tags have been accumulated.

Strategy in Early Endless mode (Antes 8 to ~14)

  • There are 5 main goals to focus on in early Endless mode:
    1. Making money (around 1/2 of the money made per round should be saved to reroll later, when less money making options are available):
      1. Mail-In Rebate generates $5 per copy of Mail-In Rebate, per discarded King.
      2. Golden Ticket generates $8 per copy of Golden Ticket, per played Red Seal Gold King, which can be increased with the same retrigger Jokers as The Idol uses. This makes it the best economy Joker for these rounds.
      3. Reserved Parking generates $1 on average per copy of Reserved Parking, per Red Seal King held in hand.
      4. Gold Cards generate $6 per Red Seal Gold King held in hand at the end of the round.
    2. Making the deck into all Kings of 1 suit so that The Idol and Mail-In Rebate always pick that rank and suit. First, the deck should be made into mostly Purple Seal Kings, which will exponentially increase the rate at which the rest of the deck can be converted. After that, the deck should be converted into Red Seal Gold Kings for more money and scoring. Some Purple Seal Kings should be kept to generate more Tarot Cards later into the run. Glass Cards can be used to score enough to survive antes without more scoring or copy Jokers if they have not been found yet.
    3. Finding important vouchers: This can be done by taking all vouchers that are not actively harmful to the run, and rerolling to find Diet Colas, then finding a Voucher Tag when enough Double Tags are held.
    4. Finding key Jokers:
      1. Four copying Jokers: Once you have a Blueprint and/or Brainstorm in hand, they won't appear in the shop anymore. There are two ways to get more copies: use Invisible Joker, although it risks duplicating another Joker, or use Showman to allow duplicates in the shop. You need 4 copying Jokers in the end, and at least one of them must be Blueprint.
      2. The Idol should be taken around ante 8-10, when the deck is mostly or all Kings of 1 suit. It can be used to survive for the next few antes while only taking up 1 Joker slot and allowing the other Joker slots to be used for making money. Retrigger Jokers like Hanging Chad, Dusk, and Sock and Buskin, and Glass Cards can be used to much further increase its scoring potential.
      3. Baron should not be taken before Ante 14, because it requires Mime to score enough to survive. This spends a Joker slot that could be used to generate more money. However, after that, Baron should be taken before Mime as Baron is a Rare Joker and Mime is only Uncommon. Whichever Joker is taken first will take up the Joker slot otherwise used for economy, because The Idol and a retrigger Joker are required to survive, and finding Mime second minimizes the time spent without an economy Joker.
    5. Finding or creating a Negative key Joker: This is absolutely essential for the Naneinf since a 7th Joker slot is required for the Burglar, and can only be done in two ways.
      1. Get lucky and find a naturally negative Baron, Mime, Blueprint or Brainstorm, though this is extremely rare so don't plan for this.
      2. Find and use Ectoplasm, best done when all Jokers but the key Jokers ( Baron/ Mime/ Blueprint/ Brainstorm) owned at the time can be sold to ensure Ectoplasm will hit the correct Joker. You can find Ectoplasm from Spectral Packs, or Arcana Packs after using Omen Globe, or from Sixth Sense. You may need to save Ectoplasm in your consumable tray until the right moment.

Strategy in Late Endless mode (Antes ~14 to 24)

  • There are 2 main goals in late Endless mode:
    1. Making money, which uses the same strategy as the previous Antes. However, Golden Ticket is worse without retrigger Jokers, and Reserved Parking and Gold Cards are better with Mime.
    2. Making enough Red Seal Steel Kings: Once the scoring requirements in a couple Antes are higher than current scoring, or Ante 24 is closer, Steel cards should be made using The Chariot and Death.
      1. At least 44 Red Seal Steel Kings are required to hold in hand to score Naneinf. However, all cards should not be converted to Steel immediately or else there will be less money to find important pieces later.
      2. If the deck is very large, at least 2/3 of the deck should be Red Seal Steel Kings so that when facing The Serpent, the 1/3 that are not Steel can be played, and the other 2/3 can be held in hand, when 3 cards are drawn every hand.
      3. At least 64 total (Steel and non Steel) cards are required in the entire deck so that enough cards can be played and held against The Serpent.
      4. DNA can be used to create multiple copies of Red Seal Gold and Red Seal Steel Kings.
      5. Magic Trick, Illusion, and Standard Packs can be used to add cards that Death can be used on.

Performing the Naneinf

  • Once you are past Ante 24 and have Baron, Mime and four copying Jokers, and you have enough Red Seal Steel Kings in your deck, you have completed the set up. All you need is to find a Burglar, then skip to the Boss Blind and re-roll for The Serpent Boss.
  • Before selecting the Boss Blind, arrange your Jokers so that the Burglar will be copied 4 times, then select the Boss Blind. This will give you 15 extra hands for the round.
  • For now, keep all of the copy Jokers copying Burglar.
  • Now you must play one non- Red Seal Steel King per hand to ensure that the Red Seal Steel Kings remain in your hand until you have a minimum of 45 cards in your hand.
  • Rearrange your Jokers into maximum Baron/ Mime copying positions (3 copies on Baron and 1 copy on Mime), and get ready to play your final card.

Unseeded Naneinf with Perkeo

This method relies on Perkeo's ability to generate unlimited negative copies of consumable cards. The set up and strategy is essentially the same for the Baron + Mime + Burglar set up above, except for the scoring method, in which the player should generate Red Seal Steel Kings by using multiple Negative Cryptid cards created by Perkeo. Since Perkeo is a Legendary Joker, and hence quite rare, it is not always possible to use it to achieve Naneinf on any given unseeded run.

Deck

This Naneinf technique can in theory be done using any Deck, however these decks are recommended:

  • Ghost Deck since Spectral Cards such as Cryptid cards can appear naturally in the shop.
  • Plasma Deck since ~1/2 the number of Cryptid cards are required to score Naneinf, as the score is effectively squared.

Performing the Naneinf

  • Once you have Baron, Mime, some copying Jokers, and enough Negative Cryptid cards in your consumable slots, you are ready to go. The number of Cryptid cards required will vary depending on the number of Baron/ Mime triggers you have. With fewer copying Jokers, more Cryptid cards will be needed.
  • This technique can be performed during any Small Blind, Big Blind or compatible Boss Blind (that doesn't debuff or discard your cards).
  • Arrange your Jokers for maximum Baron/ Mime copying.
  • Play one Negative Cryptid to generate two more copies of a Red Seal Steel King in your hand.
  • Repeat until you have a minimum of 89 Kings in your hand, and then play one King to reach Naneinf.

Perkeo + Observatory Naneinf

Naneinf is achievable using Perkeo to create multiple Negative copies of Pluto and relying on Observatory to provide X1.5 Mult per Pluto card. Using the Red Seal Steel King set up above, but with only 8 Kings in hand, this would require 1582 Negative Pluto cards with a traditional scoring deck. This is practically impossible without glitches since Perkeo can only create one Pluto per round until copying Jokers are found, and there are only 113 rounds until Ante 39 assuming none are skipped. Even with Perkeo and 4 copying Jokers from the very first round, a player would only be able to generate 566 Negative Pluto cards by Ante 39. With the Plasma Deck, the requirement would be 718 Negative Pluto cards, which still remains practically unachievable without glitches, since this would require 6 copying Jokers and a Perkeo all in round 1. Glitched runs have been able to achieve this, however.

After Naneinf

After achieving Naneinf the game will allow you to continue back to the Shop and select another round to continue playing.

Immediately after achieving Naneinf the highest hand score displayed in the stats menu will read 'naneinf', but after exiting and re-loading the game the highest hand score will be reset to zero, and any other hands played in that run will crash the game, effectively soft locking the run.
