Wasteful is a voucher that increases the amount of discards each round by 1.

• Red Deck ( {{hl|red|+1}} discard every round Unlocked from start Red Deck.png): Red Deck has +1 discard by default, meaning that buying Wasteful gives Red Deck more discards than any other deck.
• Green Deck ( At end of each Round: <br> {{Money|2}} per remaining {{hl|blue|Hand}} <br> {{Money|1}} per remaining {{hl|red|Discard}} <br> Earn no {{hl|orange|Interest}} Discover at least {{hl|orange|75}} items from your [[collection]] Green Deck.png): Gives $1 for every discard that goes unused.
• Black Deck ( {{hl|orange|+1}} Joker slot <br> {{hl|blue|-1}} hand every round Discover at least {{hl|orange|100}} items from your [[collection]] Black Deck.png): An extra discard can potentially save a run on Black Deck, as it gives the player an extra opportunity to search for their desired play without resorting to wasting one of the deck's already minimal amount of hands.
• Blast Off ( ): Wasteful can help offset the deck's -1 discard penalty.

All poker hands benefit from an extra discard, but those that require more discards than usual to play, like Flushes, Full Houses, and Straights, will be grateful for Wasteful.

• Castle (This Joker gains {{Chips|+3}} per discarded [[Card Suits|{{hl|orange|[suit]}}]] card, suit changes every round <br> {{currently|{{chips|+0}}}} Uncommon Chips Mixed Castle.png) and Hit the Road (This Joker gains {{xmult|0.5}} for every {{hl|orange|Jack}} discarded this round<br> {{Currently|{{xmult|1}}}} Discard {{hl|orange|5 Jacks}} at the same time. Rare Multiplicative Mult Mixed Hit_the_Road.png): The extra discard provides more opportunities to discard cards of a suit or Jacks, respectively.

• Trading Card (If {{hl|orange|first discard}} of round has only {{hl|orange|1}} card, destroy it and earn {{Money|3}} Uncommon Economy On Discard Trading Card.png) and Burnt Joker (Upgrade the level of the first {{hl|orange|discarded}} poker hand each round Sell 50 cards. Rare Effect On Discard Burnt Joker.png): The extra discard can help offset the discard used for the Jokers' effect.
• "Remaining discards" Jokers:
  • Banner ({{Chips|+30}} for each remaining {{hl|orange|discard}} Common Chips Independent Banner.png) gives more chips if the player has more discards.
  • Delayed Gratification (Earn {{Money|2}} per {{hl|orange|discard}} if no discards are used by end of the round Common Economy N/A (Passive) Delayed_Gratification.png) provides $2 per discard if no discards are used.

• Purple Seal (Creates a {{Tarot|}} card when {{hl|orange|discarded}}<br>{{room}} Purple Seal.png): The extra discard provides more opportunities to generate more Tarot Cards.

• Petroglyph ({{hl|orange|-1}} Ante, <br> {{hl|red|-1}} discard each round Reach Ante 12 Upgraded Petroglyph.png): Wasteful can help offset the -1 discard from Petroglyph.

• Blue Stake and above removes a discard, making Wasteful extremely beneficial.

• Burglar (When [[Blind|{{hl|orange|Blind}}]] is selected, gain {{hl|blue|+3}} Hands and {{hl|orange|lose all discards}} Uncommon Effect On Blind Select Burglar.png) sets discards to 0, and having more discards will not increase the number of hands obtained.
• Green Joker ({{mult|+1}} per hand played <br> {{mult|-1}} per discard <br> {{Currently|{{mult|+0}}}} Common Additive Mult Mixed Green_Joker.png) as it gets -1 Mult for every discard used.
• Ramen ({{xmult|2}}, loses {{xmult|0.01}} per {{hl|orange|card}} discarded Uncommon Multiplicative Mult Mixed Ramen.png) as any discard reduces its XMult.

• The Water ( Boss The Water.png) will always set discards to 0.

• Wasteful means using or expending something of value carelessly, extravagantly, or to no purpose. This comes in handy with its ability of giving an extra discard.
