X-ray Vision is a Challenge Deck. During this challenge, there is a 1 in 4, or a 25% chance for cards to be drawn face down. Oops! All 6s has no effect on this.

Starting Contents

The starting deck contains the standard 52 cards.

Synergies

Due to the difficulty of ensuring the player has a certain hand, a High Card or Pair build can be a more reliable way to beat the challenge. As such, Jokers that synergize with easier/smaller hands may be successful, such as:

  • Jokers that rely on playing many hands reliably, such as Green Joker
  • Jokers that rely on in-hand effects, such as Shoot the Moon and Raised Fist
  • Jokers that require the player to discard certain cards, such as Castle and Burnt Joker

However, if the player still wishes to play bigger hands, Jokers that help the player plays them reliably become much more important. This includes:

  • Jokers that make specific hands easier to play, like Four Fingers, Shortcut, and Smeared Joker
  • Jokers that enable the player to see more of your deck, like Drunkard and Juggler

Since Oops! All 6s has no effect on how many cards are drawn face down, it can be safely used alongside chance-based Jokers like Space Joker.

Anti-Synergies

  • Jokers that can reset, like Ride the Bus or Obelisk, can be accidentally reset due to the cards drawn face down.
  • Bosses that already draw cards face down like The Fish or The House can be more deadly than usual.

Strategies

  • The Sort feature at the bottom of the screen can narrow down what the face down cards are. Sorting by rank sorts in descending order, with Aces being the highest rank and 2s being the lowest. Sorting by suit sorts in the order of Spades, Hearts, Clubs, then Diamonds, with each suit being sorted by rank.
  • The player can briefly see face-down cards when using certain Tarot or Spectral cards, e.g., The Empress or Ouija.

Trivia

  • X-ray is an electromagnetic wave of high energy and very short wavelength, which is able to pass through many materials opaque to light. This challenge reflects this by making each card have a 1 in 4 chance of being drawn face down, because the player would need X-ray to see a card that has been drawn face down.
