Seed Money (Raise the cap on interest earned in each round to 10 Base Seed Money.png)
Money Tree (Raise the cap on interest earned in each round to 20 Max out the interest per round earnings for ten consecutive rounds Upgraded Money Tree.png) Rich get Richer is a Challenge Deck. It prevents Chips from exceeding the current amount of money the player is holding before multiplying Chips and Mult.
Starting Contents
The starting deck contains the standard 52 cards.
Synergies
- Economy Jokers such as
Rocket (Earn 1 at end of round. Payout increases by 2 when orange is defeated Uncommon Economy N/A (Passive) Rocket.png),
Mail-In Rebate (Earn 5 for each discarded [[Card Ranks|orange]], rank changes every round Common Economy On Discard Mail-In Rebate.png) and especially
To the Moon (Earn an extra 1 of orange for every 5 you have at end of round Uncommon Economy N/A (Passive) To the Moon.png) help generate money and increase the cap on Chips.
Bootstraps (+2 for every 5 you have <br> Have at least orange edition Jokers at the same time. Uncommon Additive Mult Independent Bootstraps.png) is a great addition during this challenge, since you want to have as much money as possible.
- While
Bull (+2 for each you have <br> Uncommon Chips Independent Bull.png) is weaker than usual, due to the challenge preventing chips from exceeding dollars, it does still max out your chip value in this challenge.
- Using Jokers that rely on + Mult can be a good strategy since Mult is unaffected by the Chips restriction.
- For example,
Green Joker (+1 per hand played <br> -1 per discard <br> Common Additive Mult Mixed Green_Joker.png),
Spare Trousers (This Joker gains +2 if played hand contains a orange <br> Uncommon Additive Mult Mixed Spare Trousers.png),
Fortune Teller (+1 per purple card used this run <br> Common Additive Mult Independent Fortune Teller.png), etc.
- Similarly, Jokers that give XMult are unrestricted by the Chip restriction.
Lucky Cat (This Joker gains 0.25 every time a orange card green triggers <br> Uncommon Multiplicative Mult Mixed Lucky Cat.png) can synergize well with this deck since you can potentially gain $20 from
Lucky Cards (green chance for +20<br>green chance to win 20 Lucky Card.png), on top of the X0.25 Mult that Lucky Cat gains.
Temperance (Gives the total sell value of all current Jokers<br>grey grey Available from start. Tarot Temperance.png),
The Hermit (Doubles money<br> Available from start. Tarot The Hermit.png) and
Immolate (Destroys orange random cards in hand, gain 20 Available from start. Spectral Immolate.png) will also gain money.
Anti-Synergies
- Jokers that add a lot of Chips, such as
Stuntman (+250,<br>orange hand size Earn at least 100 million (100,000,000) Chips in a single hand. Rare Chips Independent Stuntman.png) and
Arrowhead (Played cards with Spade suit give +50 when scored Have at least orange cards with orange suit in your deck Uncommon Chips On Scored Arrowhead.png), generally do not get to see their full effect due to the cap on Chips.
Wraith (Creates a random red orange, sets money to Available from start. Spectral Wraith.png) should be avoided as it sets money to $0.
Credit Card (Go up to red in debt Common Economy N/A (Passive) Credit Card.png) is pretty much useless seeing as going into debt is essentially an immediate loss.
Vagabond (Create a purple card if hand is played with 4 or less Rare Effect Independent Vagabond.png) would not be useful since you need to have $4 or less during the round to produce tarot cards, limiting the player to 4 Chips.
- Avoid playing your most played hand against
The Ox ( Boss The Ox.png) as it'll set money to $0.
The Tooth ( Boss The Tooth.png) deducts $1 for each played card, reducing your Chip maximum and potentially losing the game.
Trivia
- This challenge is the only way in the game that allows the player to score a 0-point hand, which happens when the player lets their money drop to $0 or less.
- "The rich get richer" (which is often followed up by "and the poor get poorer") is an expression used to describe the widening wealth gap between wealthy individuals and the impoverished. The expression is also used to describe situations where people who have a lot will only ever receive more of it, and those who have little will have even that taken away from them. This ties into the overall challenge; builds with a lot of money will progress through the run faster and faster while builds that lack money will have a tougher and tougher time meeting the score requirements until it becomes impossible to win.
