The Red Deck is a deck which provides +1 discard every round. This deck is unlocked by default.
Starting Contents
It contains the 52 cards of a normal deck: four suits, each with 13 cards (2 to 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace).
Synergies
Being one of the more generic decks, Red Deck pairs nicely with anything, and as such lets the player utilize lots of different strategies centralizing around what the run gives them without much issue.
An extra discard means the player can cycle through at most 5 other cards, which helps significantly for playing bigger poker hands while also helping find specific cards, acting as an extra layer of filtering.
- Thanks to the prominent feature that Red Deck possesses, Jokers that function off of discards should be of priority when using it. An example would be
Banner (+30 for each remaining orange Common Chips Independent Banner.png), which gains +30 Chips per remaining discard.
- Discard-dependent Jokers such as
Mail-in Rebate (),
Faceless Joker (Earn 5 if orange or more orange are discarded at the same time Common Economy On Discard Faceless_Joker.png),
Castle (This Joker gains +3 per discarded [[Card Suits|orange]] card, suit changes every round <br> Uncommon Chips Mixed Castle.png),
Burnt Joker (Upgrade the level of the first orange poker hand each round Sell 50 cards. Rare Effect On Discard Burnt Joker.png) or
Yorick (This Joker gains 1 every orange gray cards discarded<br> Find this Joker from the sblue card. Legendary Multiplicative Mult Mixed Yorick.png) are also preferred when using Red Deck.
- Even though not being directly harmful, the likes of
Delayed Gratification (Earn 2 per orange if no discards are used by end of the round Common Economy N/A (Passive) Delayed_Gratification.png),
Green Joker (+1 per hand played <br> -1 per discard <br> Common Additive Mult Mixed Green_Joker.png) or
Ramen (2, loses 0.01 per orange discarded Uncommon Multiplicative Mult Mixed Ramen.png) gives less value when using discards, which hurts Red Deck's potential when paired with them.
- Although notably,
Delayed Gratification (Earn 2 per orange if no discards are used by end of the round Common Economy N/A (Passive) Delayed_Gratification.png) enjoys a boost to its effect, giving the player an extra $2 in most cases. The risk of using a deck with basically no effect oftentimes outweigh the benefit that this interaction gives, but nonetheless, it can be considered a synergy.
Paint Brush (orange hand size Base Paint Brush.png) and
Palette (orange hand size Reduce your hand size down to five cards. Upgraded Palette.png) make it easier to search for specific cards or hands in your deck when combined with the extra discard.
The Serpent ( Boss The Serpent.png) benefits from the extra discard because it allows the player to draw an extra 3 cards, making the blind more manageable.
The Hook ( Boss The Hook.png) benefits from the extra discard because it allows the player to see more cards before the cards are forcefully discarded, making it significantly easier to assemble a 5 cards hand.

Purple Seal (Creates a card when orange<br>room Purple Seal.png): The extra discard provides more opportunities to generate more Tarot Cards.
Petroglyph (orange Ante, <br> red discard each round Reach Ante 12 Upgraded Petroglyph.png): Red Deck can help offset the -1 discard from Petroglyph.
- Red Deck can help offset the -1 discard penalty from playing
Blue Stake and above.
Anti-Synergies
Jokers
Burglar (When orange is selected, gain blue Hands and orange Uncommon Effect On Blind Select Burglar.png) nullifies red deck's +1 discard.
Blinds
The Water ( Boss The Water.png) also nullifies red deck's +1 discard.
Trivia
- Red and Blue backed playing card decks are some of the most common colors used in real-world playing card decks, such as Bicycle decks.
