The Tooth is a Boss Blind that makes the player lose $1 for each card they play. For example, if the player plays a Straight in one hand, which would consist of 5 cards, the player will lose $5. Unscored cards also cause the player to lose money; for example, a Pair with three unscored cards would also lose $5.

It should be noted that even if the player has $0 in possession, the boss ability will continue to trigger and push the player into debt.

• Picking up Credit Card (Go up to {{hl|red|-$20}} in debt Common Economy N/A (Passive) Credit Card.png) before the round or keeping a Wraith (Creates a random [[Rare Jokers|{{hl|red|Rare}} {{hl|orange|Joker}}]], sets money to {{$|0}} Available from start. Spectral Wraith.png) in hand can help the player recover from going into debt.
• Gold Cards ({{money|3}} if this card is held in hand at end of round Gold Card.png) and Gold Seal (Earn {{money|3}} when this card is played and scores Gold Seal.png)s can help offset the penalty.
  • Golden Ticket (Played [[Gold Cards|{{hl|orange|Gold}}]] cards earn {{Money|4}} when scored Play a 5 card hand that contains only {{hl|orange|Gold}} cards Common Economy On Scored Golden Ticket.png) allows the player to play Gold Cards for a net increase of $1, or more if the player has Retrigger Jokers.
• Any Economy Joker can help offset The Tooth's penalty, although the player may still lose out on Interest.
  • Mail-In Rebate (Earn {{Money|5}} for each discarded [[Card Ranks|{{hl|orange|[rank]}}]], rank changes every round Common Economy On Discard Mail-In Rebate.png), Golden Joker (Earn {{Money|4}} at end of round Common Economy N/A (Passive) Golden_Joker.png), and To Do List (Earn {{Money|4}} if [[Poker Hands|{{hl|orange|poker hand}}]] is a [[Poker Hands|{{hl|orange|[Poker Hand]}}]], poker hand changes at end of round Common Economy On Played To_Do_List.png) are Common Jokers, making them relatively easy to obtain.
• Vagabond (Create a [[Tarot Cards|{{hl|purple|Tarot}}]] card if hand is played with {{Money|4}} or less Rare Effect Independent Vagabond.png) has the potential to benefit as the Money penalty may make the played Poker Hand fulfill its condition, generating Tarot cards.
• Ideally, Poker Hands with few cards such as High Card or Pair should be used to defeat The Tooth so as to minimize the Money penalty.
