What you can expect from this guide is a step by step process on how to remove the LCD display screen on a Verizon Ellipsis Jetpack MHS800L.

Schritt 1

Remove the SIM card, that is located on top of the Jetpack.

Schritt 2

With the device on its back and the label facing you, remove the rubber screw cover on the top left corner of the device.
Under the rubber circle, remove the 1.25 mm screw using a Philips #00 screwdriver.
You may need to peel back a piece of double sided tape covering the screw hole.

Schritt 3

Remove three 1.25 mm screws.

Are steps 3 and 4 reversed? Where are the 3 screws?

Yes steps 3 and 4 are reversed. After removing the single screen (Philips #000 works better than #00), flip the device over and follow step 4 to remove the top black cover. Then follow step 3 to remove the 3 screw shown.

Schritt 4

Use a plastic opening tool at the seams and pry open the case.

Schritt 5

Once the cover is off, this is what your device will look like.

Schritt 6

Once you have the case off of your device gently pull your battery away from the device.
Do not attempt to completely remove the battery, as it is still attached to the motherboard by wires.

Schritt 7

With a pair of ESD Tweezers remove the yellow tape covering the battery wires.

Schritt 8

After removing the tape you may use the ESD Tweezers to remove the wiring harness from the circuit board.
Do not squeeze the wires to hard you may damage them and cause a short.

I just replaced the battery in my JetPack. The connector does NOT slide out towards the wires; instead, use the tweezers to gently grasp all of the wires, and then lift them straight up and away from the unit.

Reattach the new battery by locating the connector over the receptacle, and push the connector straight down into place. Replace the yellow tape, and reassemble the unit. This worked for me! I hope it helps others.

Schritt 10

Locate the LCD screen cable and unlatch the harness connection form the circuit board.

Schritt 11

Using the ESD Tweezers gently coax the display data cable out of circuit board connector.
Do not squeeze the display data cable to hard you may damage it and cause a short.
