Einleitung

Eine LP kann durch ungeignete Lagerung, Wärmeeinwirkung oder Katzen wellig werden. Eine gewellte Vinylscheibe kann zu Tonhöhenschwankungen bei deiner Lieblingsmusik führen. Zum Glück kann dies oft repariert werden, so dass du bald wieder zum Rock'n Roll zurückkehren kannst. Alles was du brauchst sind zwei Glasscheiben, die etwas größer sind als die Platte, aber so klein, dass sie in deinen Backofen passen. Mit schwerem und dickem Glas gelingt es am Besten.

Wenn deine Reparatur erfolgreich war, dann achte in Zukunft darauf, dass deine Platte richtig gelagert ist, nämlich senkrecht und fern von Wärmequellen. So kommen solches Schäden nicht mehr vor.

    • Ziehe die Platte aus ihrer Hülle und sorge dafür, dass sie ordentlich sauber ist.

    • Wenn die Platte verschmutzt ist, dann solltest du sie reinigen, bevor du anfängst.

    • Lege die Platte in die Mitte von einer der beiden Glasscheiben.

    • Lege die zweite Glasscheibe vorsichtig auf die Schallplatte auf.

    • Heize den Backofen auf 80 Grad auf.

    • Bei zu großen Temperaturunterschieden kann Glas zerspringen. Achte darauf, dass das Glas Raumtemperatur hat oder leicht erwärmt ist, bevor du es in den Ofen gibst. Es darf keinen schnellen Temperatursprung erfahren.

    • Schiebe die zwischen den beiden Glasscheiben eingeschlossene Schallplatte in den Ofen.

    • Beobachte deine Schallplatte. Wenn du einen eigenartigen Geruch oder merkwürdige Geräusche wahrnimmst, dann hole sie sofort aus dem Ofen heraus.

    • Erwärme die Schallplatte 2 - 3 Minuten lang.

    • Wenn du die Platte länger im Ofen lässt, kann sie schmelzen.

    • Ziehe dir Thermohandschuhe an und hole die Glas-Schallplattenpackung aus dem Ofen heraus.

    • Denke dran, dass Glas bei einem Temperaturschock zerspringen kann. Setze es nicht auf eine Granit- oder Fliesenfläche ab.

    • Setze das Glas bei Raumtemperatur auf eine Holzfläche ab. Benutze ein Küchentuch oder einen Topflappen, um die Oberfläche zu schützen.

    • Beschwere das Glas mit einem dicken Buch oder einem anderen flachen Gewicht.

    • Lasse die Schallplatte unter dem Gewicht und zwischen den Glasscheiben liegen, bis sie ganz abgekühlt ist.

    • Wenn sie erkaltet ist, kannst du sie herausnehmen.

Abschluss

Spiele deine LP ab. Wenn sie immer noch wellig ist, kannst du das Verfahren noch einmal durchführen. Erwärme dann noch etwas länger und lege ein schwereres Gewicht auf.

Try this: Get two 1/2" x 12" x 12" polished marble floor tiles. Bathe (the tiles) in hot tap water until heated through. Place record in poly sleeve between the two tiles. Place weights on top - the more the better. Wait for tiles to cool. Repeat as necessary.

When I was a kid, I watched my Mom fix a warped record one time by putting it between the plates of glass and setting it in direct sunlight for about 10 minutes. That worked as well.

I used 2 pieces of glass first time 170 degrees 3 minutes did not do the job then I try 4 minutes a bit better then I went for 5 minutes after that I put 4 heavy books for weight on the glass for 1 hour.The record came out perfect.

I came here because the new Fleetwood Mac albums (50 Years Don’t Stop Collection)I received today are warped… Got a kick out of seeing Rumours. For the two glass panes you can use two sliding mirror from a bathroom/laundry wall cabinet..

Many ovens, including mine, will not regulate properly down to 80C…..The lowest setting on mine is 120C….Far too hot, as I found out!

The temperature can be changed however by slowly moving the knob around between the lowest setting and off ..(gas oven).

Use a temperature probe in the oven, attached to a temperature or multi-meter and stay and adjust the oven to the right temperature for the necessary 3 - 5 minutes with the record in the oven.

Remember it is better to underdo (can redo) than overdo (It’s toast) for obvious reasons…Good luck!
