It is possible that your fan has stopped working due to physical or electrical damage. A replacement fan will need to be purchased. After purchasing a new fan follow these steps to replace the broken fan of your ASUS X502CA.

    • Remove all eleven Phillips screws located on the bottom of the laptop using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.

    • Bottom four are 5 mm length, and the rest are 9 mm in length. All are 2 mm in diameter.

    • Remove the keyboard cover panel by using the Plastic Opening Tool to carefully pop off the clips around the parameter.

    • Be cautious when pulling off the cover because there are cables you will have to disconnect before completely removing the panel.

    • The keyboard cover panel is connected to the motherboard with ribbons, be careful to not damage them.

    • Lift the keyboard cover carefully.

    • Disconnect the keyboard and touch-pad ribbons using tweezers.

    • Fold up the black plastic arms securing the cables and disconnect them using tweezers or finger nails.

    • If these are not unplugged, the motherboard may shock you.

    • If these are not unplugged, the motherboard may shock you.

    • Unscrew the six 5 mm screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.

    • Flip motherboard over and away from screen.

    • Each screw is 5 mm in length with 1.5 mm diameter.

    • Unplug power connector using a tweezers or your fingers.

    • Tear off the marked strip using your fingers.
